‘Some boundaries should never be crossed’: Indian Army sends stern message ahead of Pahalgam terror attack anniversary

New Delhi: It was on April 22 last year that Pahalgam terror attack rattled India. Pakistan-backed terrorists gunned down 26 civilians.

As the nation inching towards the first anniversary of the horrific attack, the Indian Army took to X and recounted Operation Sindoor, which was launched to retaliate the Pahalgam attack, and issued a warning against any further cross-border escalation.

What the post said

It wrote on X: “When boundaries of humanity are crossed, the response is decisive. Justice is served. India stands united.”

It also had an image, with a stern message: “Some boundaries should never be crossed.”

About Operation Sindoor

After the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor. The operation hit terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Under the operation, India said its forces destroyed as many as nine major terror launchpads, striking facilities linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Over 100 militants were reportedly killed during the operation.

Pakistan resorted to drone attacks and shelling. India also gave a befitting reply to Pakistan. A four-day conflict between the two neighbouring countries ensued. During the retaliatory strikes, India destroyed radar installations in Lahore and radar facilities near Gujranwala.

On May 10, a ceasefire was agreed upon after Pakistan’s director general of military operations (DGMO) called his Indian counterpart and urged to end the confrontation.

What defence minister said

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that India does not disturb anyone but does not spare those who attack it.

“Operation Sindoor — remember, we do not disturb anyone, but we do not spare anyone if they disturb us,” Singh said while addressing a roadshow in Tamil Nadu’s Radhapuram. Singh has maintained that “Operation Sindoor is still going on”.
