Worship method of Som Pradosh Vrat (Som Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi)
On the day of fasting, wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath and wear clean clothes. Take a pledge to fast by chanting ‘Om Namah Shivay’. Remember Lord Shiva in your mind throughout the day. Take bath once again before the Pradosh period begins. For worship, install the idol of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati or place the Shivalinga in a clean place. Then first of all perform Rudrabhishek of Shivling with Ganga water, milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugarcane juice. Apply sandalwood paste to Lord Shiva, offer Belpatra, Bhang, Dhatura, Aak flowers and Shami Patra.
Offer sixteen makeup items to Goddess Parvati. Offer seasonal fruits, sweets and kheer as bhog. Sitting on the seat, chant the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivay’ at least 108 times with Rudraksha rosary.
