Som Pradosh Fast: Pradosh fast has great importance in Sanatan Dharma. This fast is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Pradosh fast falls twice every month. This fast is observed every month on Trayodashi date. Once in Krishna Paksha and second time in Shukla Paksha. The first Pradosh fast of the month of November is on Monday. Monday is dedicated to Lord Shiva in Hindu religious scriptures. Pradosh fast is also observed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Worship method of Som Pradosh fast (Som Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi)
- On the day of Pradosh fast, one should take bath in the morning and offer Arghya to the Sun God.
- After this one should resolve to fast.
- After this the place of worship should be cleaned.
- At the time of worship, Lord Shiva should be anointed with Panchamrit.
- Belpatra, Dhatura, flowers, water and milk should be offered on Shivalinga.
- Shiva family should be worshiped along with the entire family.
- Pradosh Vrat Katha should be recited.
- In the end, Shiv Chalisa and Aarti should be performed.
- The fast should be broken only after the completion of the puja.
