Soldier returning home on leave murdered in train

A 27-year-old soldier was stabbed to death by a railway attendant over a seat dispute in a train near Bikaner. The police have arrested the accused and also recovered the knife used in the murder. Investigation of the matter is ongoing.

Bikaner: A soldier returning home on leave was stabbed to death by a railway attendant in a train. The slain soldier has been identified as Jigar Kumar Chaudhary (27), a resident of Gujarat. The incident took place around 11 pm on Sunday night, when the express train going from Jammu Tawi to Sabarmati reached Lunkaransar station near Bikaner, Rajasthan. The police have arrested the attendant named Zuber Memon, accused of murder.

According to the information received from the police, there was an argument between the soldier and the attendant in the train at night regarding the seat. After this, an attendant attacked the soldier with a knife he was carrying. The soldiers fell inside the train due to deep wounds in their stomach and chest. Other passengers immediately informed the authorities. As soon as the train reached Bikaner, he was admitted to Prince Bijay Singh Memorial Hospital, but by then he had died. The police are detaining the suspected attendant in the case and interrogating him. The police have also recovered the knife used in the murder and have also recorded the statements of the passengers.

The coach where the murder took place has been sealed for investigation and the passengers of that coach have been shifted to another coach. Forensic investigation will be conducted after the train reaches Jodhpur railway station. The postmortem process will be completed in Bikaner hospital after the arrival of the army officials and the family members of the slain soldier. The police will thoroughly investigate the case to find out the reason for the murder.
