There was talk in AI summit

The issue related to earnings of content creators was discussed in the recently held AI Impact Summit 2026. There the Union IT Minister said that the income earned by the hard work of traditional media teams should be distributed properly. The government believes in this and is continuously talking to big online platforms on this issue.

The biggest concern of the discussion at the AI Summit was how the short summaries generated by AI are hurting the news business. In Google search, tools like AI overview and AI chatbot provide immediate answers to people. Due to this, people visit news websites less to read real news. The result is that the number of traffic coming to news websites is decreasing.
