Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha found herself at the centre of social media backlash after a video from an International Yoga Day event in Mumbai went viral on Saturday (June 21). The actress had participated in the public event to promote the importance of fitness and mindfulness, aligning with the global celebration of yoga.
While several clips of Nushrratt performing yoga poses and interacting with attendees circulated online, one particular video caught the attention of netizens, and not for the right reasons.
In the now-viral clip, shared by Telly Chakkar, volunteers can be seen bending down to remove her shoes, and soon after the video surfaced, netizens slammed her. A section of Instagram users accused the actress of encouraging “VIP culture,” while others found the moment disrespectful, especially at an event centred around discipline and humility.
“Like really she has come to do yoga but she can’t bend and take her shoe off like WOW,” a user commented. Another wrote, “Unbelievable khud k haath nahi hai kya.”
“Why she two people to remove her shoes…and she s going to do yoga????” asked another user.
“Paisa or fam sir chad gaya hai madam ko yoga karni hai par shoes laces kay liye log cahiye madam yoga bhi unhi se kerwa lo,” read another angry user.
“Why someone else have to remove her shoe she herself can do it if she is that fit” read another comment.
Slamming the actress, a user wrote, “Its rude….. Can’t these so called celebrities take off their shoes.”
