Smriti Mandhana is the vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, and she will be in action for the Women in Blue on Tuesday (December 23) in Visakhapatnam against Sri Lanka.

During the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series between India and Sri Lanka, the 29-year-old left-handed batter from Maharashtra will have a chance to become the second Indian cricketer after the legendary Mithali Raj to score 10,000 runs in women’s cricket.

As of now, Smriti has 9958 runs to her credit in 278 international matches played so far across formats, whereas Mithali finished her international career in 2022 with a total of 10,868 runs in 333 matches.

Smriti has played seven Test matches for the Indian team and scored 629 runs, whereas in 117 ODIs, she has amassed a total of 5322 runs. In T20Is, Mandhana is India’s highest run getter (4007 runs in 154 matches).
