Skoda has just taken the veil off its global flagship electric SUV, the Peaq, which has full-size electric SUVs like Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Volvo EX90 in its crosshairs. It is a 4.9m long SUV based on Skoda’s latest iteration of Modern Solid design language. It has a three-row seating layout and promises up to 647 km of range on a single charge.
Skoda Peaq Electric SUV Debuts
In terms of design, features an evolved version of the brand’s Modern Solid design language which we first saw on Skoda Epiq. The butterfly grille has made way to what the company calls ‘Tech Deck’ face with vertical LED elements connecting both headlight assemblies. LED DRLs are horizontal, while headlight elements are vertical.

Upper grille is closed-off, but the lower grille has functional air vents, flanked by large black elements. From the sides, we can see up to 21-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic design. Flush door handles, large glass area, minimalist sheet metal design without sharp cuts and creases and T-shaped LED tail lights that merge into the tailgate are notable.
To reduce visual bulk, entire rear bumper is in gloss black and so is the case with body cladding. Where dimensions are concerned, Skoda Peaq measures 4,874 mm in length, 1,867 mm in width, 1,664 mm in height and has a 2,965 mm long wheelbase. Ground clearance is 184 mm and the boot capacity starts from 299L with all three rows up and then a 37L frunk.

Interiors and Space
With third row seats folded, boot space is rated at 935L, which is larger than any other Skoda vehicle ever made. For context, Peaq is larger than Kodiaq in numbers as it measures 4,758 mm long and boot space is 786L with third row folded. On the inside, there is a 13.6-inch portrait style infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a two-spoke steering and very minimal buttons.

Overall dashboard layout seems to be inspired from Kodiaq’s. Notable elements include up to 10 airbags, 16-speaker Sonos sound system, V2L feature where it can power electrical appliances too, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, multi-zone climate control, digital key, an optional HUD, 360 cameras, sophisticated ADAS suite, auto park, washers integrated into wipers, and more. Optional Relax Package brings powered ottoman, massaging seats, a foldable table and more.

Will It Launch In India?
Globally, Skoda Peaq will be offered in 3 variants – 60, 90 and 90X. The top-spec 90X comes with 91 kWh battery, dual motor AWD setup with 300 bhp and 613 km range. Mid-spec 90 comes with RWD single motor setup with 286 bhp and 647 km range. Opting the base 60 variant brings 63 kWh battery, RWD single motor config with 204 bhp and 459 km range.

It has to be noted that currently does not offer any of its electric SUVs in India even though we have seen some of them testing in the country. Global lineup include Epiq, Elroq, Enyaq and the just debuted Peaq. However, there is a slight probability of Skoda Peaq making it to our shores via the CBU route.
