Worship method of Skanda Shashthi
On the day of Skanda Shashthi, Lord Kartikeya should be worshiped with full law. Since this day is falling on Saturday, there can be relief in the sufferings related to Shani Dev.
Bath and Resolution: Wake up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. Clean the temple of the house and pledge to fast and worship in front of Lord Kartikeya.
Statue installation: Install the idol or picture of Lord Kartikeya, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati at the place of worship.
Abhishek and Pujan: Anoint God with Ganga water or Panchamrit. Offer them sandalwood, roli, akshat, incense, lamp, and especially red or yellow flowers (eg marigold, jasmine).
Bhog: Offer fruits, sweets, and modak/appam (special in South India) to God. Offering peacock feathers in some places is also considered auspicious.
