Bengaluru-based Simple Energy is coming up with their first-ever family-format electric scooter in the form of . IP filings suggested that it could be called Arrive, but the company has finalised the name as Simple Wave. This scooter will launch on September 2nd and it will take on other family format electric scooters in the country.
Simple Wave Electric Scooter
The family-format electric scooters are booming right now and almost all electric scooter manufacturers have at least one. If you take the heavy hitters and industry leaders like TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto, they primarily offer family-format electric scooters. Ather launched the Rizta and now it is Simple Energy’s chance to jump on the boat with Simple Wave.
Immediate rivals for Simple Wave include Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and Orbiter along with Ather Rizta and Hero Vida VX2. When launched on 2nd September, Simple Wave will be positioned below the flagship One, which is a sporty format scooter. Even in terms of pricing, Simple Wave will be priced more at the affordable end to really penetrate into this high-volume segment.
Simple Wave has been spied testing on public roads before and it features a conventional family-scooter design language. Flat floor board, long seat, plush suspension, no-frills features list and affordable pricing will be the mantra.

As seen in the recent spy shots, headlights are positioned in the apron and not on the handlebar cowl. Star-shaped alloy wheels designs, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, front telescopic forks (RUS types) and rear twin shock absorbers, a single-piece grab rail, premium switchgear with a D-pad and other elements are notable.
What to expect?
There could be a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and navigation features along with music control, notifications, weather, news and other features. There could be features like hill assist, reverse gear, cruise control, keyless ignition, USB charging ports, LED lighting all around and other features might be part of the package.
Simple Wave could be powered by the same basic architecture as Simple One. Even the chassis could be the same, but modified to suit the family-format genre. Powertrains could be shared with Simple OneS, which is the base version of One family. 3.7 kWh battery promising 190 km range, powering a 6.4 kW motor (peak) with 90 km/h top speed. More details will be revealed at launch on 2nd September.
