Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s grandson Dhawan Rakesh has expressed his interest in entering politics, hinting that the third generation of the Siddaramaiah family may soon take the political plunge.
Dhavan, who recently shared photographs with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Instagram, wrote, “Politics has always been a part of the background for me, but meeting someone who constantly faces pushback and still chooses to stand for what he believes in was different.”
The CM’s grandson mentioned that his meeting with Rahul Gandhi took place on August 8.
He further added, “My grandfather recognised how much I respect honest leaders and made this meeting possible. Honesty is often neglected in politics, but I wish to meet leaders who strive to be honest and remain true to their beliefs.”
Dhawan stated that while politics has always been part of his life, Rahul Gandhi’s steadfastness in upholding his principles despite opposition inspired him.
“Meeting such a leader was a unique experience. I conveyed my immense respect for him. As a student now, and as a lawyer in the future, I wish to stand with him and walk alongside him,” he said.
In his post, Dhawan also emphasised the need for greater vigilance and transparency in public life.
“We must honour leaders who lead the nation through truth, integrity, and openness. Rahul Gandhi engages sincerely with people and the media. Likewise, we too must come forward for honest dialogue,” he wrote.
Dhawan Rakesh had recently appeared alongside his grandfather Siddaramaiah at the RCB victory celebration and a Kuruba community felicitation event, drawing public attention to his growing visibility in political circles.
