Company Removes Sick Leave: In today’s era, where companies talk about work-life balance, a new leave rule of a tech company has spread like wildfire on social media. A user on Reddit shared a Slack message from his company’s HR, which left people shocked. Users say that this decision not only increases the pressure on the employees, but also clearly points towards a toxic office environment. This post is shared by a MERN developer with about 4 years of experience. The title of the post is- ‘First ended WFH and now this’. The user claimed that the company has suddenly changed the entire system of holidays.

Now no sick leave, no casual leave for employees

According to a screenshot shared on Reddit, HR sent a message titled ‘Important Leave Policy Update’ to a Slack group of 15 employees. It was clearly written in it that the company has now completely abolished both casual leave and sick leave. Under the new policy, now only two types of leaves will be available. In which-

Annual Paid Leave

Employees will get only 12 paid leaves in the entire year. These holidays will be added by 1 day every month. These can be used for personal work, vacation or any general need.

hospitalization leave

This leave will be available only when the employee has to be admitted to the hospital. This leave of total 6 days in a year will be available in two parts. 3 days in January and 3 days in July. For this, it will be mandatory to provide hospital admission or discharge paper, or valid medical document. As soon as this post went viral, Reddit users expressed their displeasure over the company’s decision. Many people called it illegal and asked from which state this company was operating. One user sarcastically wrote, now ‘deathbed leave’ should be kept for the last day also. Another user raised the question, ‘What should someone do if he gets cold, fever or goes viral?’ Some users advised that in such an environment it is better to think about changing jobs. Many people also demanded to make the name of the company public, so that others can remain alert.
