According to a report by India Today, Shreyas Iyer got discharged from a hospital in Sydney after he had to undergo a small procedure following a rib and spleen injury. His recovery rate has been steady, and the Indian Cricket Board confirmed on November 1, 2025, that Shreyas had been discharged from the hospital.

The report also stated that Shreyas was scheduled to fly back to India after he was declared fit by the medical team. However, the cricketer will be out of the game for at least two months. Shreyas will be in Sydney for follow-up consultations before he is sent back to India and declared fit to fly. Shreyas will be monitored under the guidance of Dr Kouroush Haghighi, and Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala from India is also showing support.

“Shreyas Iyer sustained a blunt injury to his abdomen while fielding during the third ODI against Australia on October 25, 2025, resulting in a laceration of his spleen with internal bleeding. The injury was promptly identified, and the bleeding was immediately arrested following a minor procedure. He has undergone appropriate medical management for the same.”

Earlier, team India captain, Suryakumar Yadav dropped an update related to Shreyas’ condition and shared that he was doing well and also replying to the messages that were sent to him by his teammates. Shreyas was stable, out of the ICU, and recently tweeted about his journey to recovery. His tweet read:
