The judgment came after hearing evidence and witness statements in the four-year-old case.
Murders linked to suspicion of relationship
The case took place in the Etmadpur area of Agra on May 27, 2022. According to reports, the accused suspected that the wife, Pooja, and her cousin Shivam Sisodia were in a relationship. Shivam, aged 31, lived close to the house of the accused’s relatives. Due to family connections, he often visited their home, which led to suspicion within the family, according to a report published by India Today.

Bodies found outside the house
After the attack, Pooja’s body was found at the doorstep of the house, while Shivam’s body was lying in the street. Following the crime, Gaurav reportedly sat near his wife’s body and cried. Meanwhile, his father and brother went to the Etmad-ud-Daula police station and surrendered.
