In Bengaluru, a young man has been accused of living in a live-in relationship with a Hindu girl on the pretext of marriage. Later he pressurized her to change her religion and threatened to cut her into 32 pieces if she refused. The victim has also alleged cheating of Rs 12.20 lakh and sexual exploitation.
Bengaluru: Another shocking case of ‘Love Jihad’ has come to light in the capital Bengaluru. A Muslim boy has been accused of loving a Hindu girl, living in a live-in relationship and then pressurizing her to change her religion by refusing to marry him. When the girl refused to change her religion, she was threatened to be cut into pieces like in Delhi. The girl has also alleged that the police did not take proper action on her complaint.
Cheating worth lakhs and threatening to kill
The victim girl has made these serious allegations against a boy named Usman. It is being told that they met through friends two years ago. Initially, when the girl refused his love because she belonged to a different religion, Usman threatened to commit suicide. He assured that there was no need to change religion and they would get married just like that. After this the girl agreed and remained in a live-in relationship with him for about one and a half years. But, when it came to marriage, he showed his true colors. It is alleged that he pressurized the girl to change her religion immediately and threatened to kill her by assaulting her. The most shocking thing is that the accused also cheated Rs 12.20 lakh from the girl. Not only this, he also forcibly mortgaged the girl’s jewellery.
‘I will cut it into 32 pieces and keep it in the fridge’
Despite being cheated in love and robbed of money, when the girl mustered up the courage to ask Usman to talk about marriage in front of his family, he issued a threat that would make anyone shudder. The girl alleges that Usman said, “If you marry me forcefully, then like in the Delhi case, I will cut you into 32 pieces and keep them in the fridge and then marry someone else.” The girl is in deep shock after this threat.
Meanwhile, the girl also came to know that Usman is addicted to drugs. It is alleged that apart from swindling money and jewellery, he also blackmailed the girl by keeping her private photographs and forcibly sexually assaulted her. Fed up with all these atrocities, the victim girl even tried to commit suicide twice.
Police accused of laxity
The victim girl had lodged a complaint against the accused Usman at Sudhaguntepalya police station last March. But, the girl alleges that the police did not take her complaint seriously, did not register the FIR as per her request and did not even prepare the charge sheet properly. He says that even after the case is registered, the police is reluctant to take action. Now he has to make rounds of police stations and offices of big officials to get justice. Amid rising cases of murder threats and love jihad like in Delhi, the alleged inaction of the police in this case raises serious questions on the law and order of the state.
