Mohanlal, Sanjay Dutt, Chiranjeevi, Raveena Tandon, Sonam Kapoor and several other celebrities expressed their shock at the horrific Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
On Tuesday, a group of terrorists opened fire on tourists at the Baisaran mountain top in Pahalgam. The terror attack — one of the worst in Jammu and Kashmir — took place at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
Malayalam actor Mohanlal expressed his shock and . He wrote, “My heart goes out to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. It is devastating to witness such cruelty. No cause can ever justify the taking of innocent lives (sic).”
Sanjay Dutt, on his X post, said that this attack cannot be forgiven. He tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and requested them to retaliate.
Telugu actor Chiranjeevi called it a ‘ghastly’ attack, which is unpardonable. “The ghastly attack killing 26 innocent people and tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir is horrifying and heartbreaking. It is an unpardonable act of cruelty. My heart goes out to the families of those killed. Nothing can undo the loss they suffered. My condolences and prayers for them (sic),” he posted.
Sonam Kapoor expressed her shock and sadness on the terror attack. “Shocked and deeply saddened by the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. My heartfelt condolences to the families who’ve lost their loved ones (sic),” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Telugu actor Nani recalled his experience of shooting in Pahalgam for almost 20 days three months back. He wrote that he was speechless after seeing the attack.
Raveena Tandon had ‘no words to express the anguish’. “Shocked and angry. No words to express the anguish. Prayers and strength to the victims. Time we all let go of petty in-house fighting, UNITE and realise the true enemy (sic),” her X note read.
Condemning the attack, Sonu Sood wrote, “Strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Kashmir’s #Pahalgam. Terrorism should not have any place in a civilized world and this dastardly act is unacceptable. My deepest condolences to the families who lost their dear ones and prayers for early recovery of those who are injured. Om Sai ram (sic).”
Heartbroken Vivek Oberoi called for solidarity and peace in a post on X. “A shadow of sorrow falls heavy today, as news of the horrific terror attack in Kashmir breaks our hearts. Sending deepest condolences and prayers to all the families who have tragically lost loved ones. Now, more than ever, the world must come together in solidarity against such hatred, striving for strength, healing and enduring peace. #PeaceNotTerror (sic),” he wrote.
Actor Zaira Wasim called the attack ‘unjustifiable’ and offered her condolences.
Actor Ranvir Shorey posted the heartbreaking photo of a wife sitting next to her deceased husband and wrote, “Dunno if I’m more angry or more sad (sic).”
Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa recalled that Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Leo’ was shot entirely in Pahalgam. “#leo was entirely shot in #Pahalgam but this is not the memory I wanted to keep with Me of this beautiful little Town #PahalgamTerroristAttack Saddened! (sic),” he posted on X.
The terrorists, dressed in fatigues, opened fire at a group of tourists. An and said that there was no place to hide in the open space when the terrorists fired gunshots at them.
The Resistance Front, a local offshoot of the Pakistan-based terror group Laskhar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack.
