There were mixed reactions from people on this post. Some believed the fees to be too high for a minor illness, while others argued that patients should be prepared for higher prices at private clinics.

Dr. Sudhir Kumar, neurologist at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, opined, “For minor fever, I don’t go to the doctor, I avoid tests, and I don’t even take antibiotics or paracetamol. I must have saved lakhs of rupees in the last thirty years.”

Another user commented, “Many people go to government hospitals for minor fever and get free treatment. Why do people avoid government hospitals?”

Some also pointed out that patients have the option to choose where they receive treatment. A commenter asked, “Why did you go to Apollo Clinic for a minor fever? Did they force you to undergo so many tests? You had a choice. You could have got a second opinion from a local family doctor.”

Another user commented, “These healthcare clinics are meant to trap you in their system to rob you. They are not meant to treat you but to transfer you from the clinic to the hospital.”
