Shivam Dube Returns to Indian ODI Squad for England Series

Shivam Dube is set to rejoin the Indian ODI team after a two-year hiatus, having been selected for the upcoming three-match series against England starting July 14. He steps in as an injury replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has been sidelined due to a quadriceps injury sustained during the series against Afghanistan.

Consequently, Reddy will also miss the T20I series against Ireland and England, as his recovery is expected to take longer.

India now faces a challenge with both of their primary batting all-rounders unavailable, as Hardik Pandya is also recovering from a quadriceps injury that kept him out of the Afghanistan series. Dube, who last represented India in ODIs in August 2024 against Sri Lanka, has been a significant contributor to the T20I squad, playing crucial roles in the 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cups.

Dube made his ODI debut against the West Indies in 2019, accumulating 43 runs across four matches at an average of 10.75, along with one wicket.

In other news, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Virat Kohli is fully fit after missing the Afghanistan series. Initially listed as ‘subject to fitness,’ Kohli underwent a fitness assessment at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru last month.
