When Lord Shiva got this news, he became filled with anger and grief and started performing tandav. Their orgy became a signal for the destruction of the universe.
Lord Shiva absorbed in samadhi
After this the gods requested Lord Shiva, only then Lord Shiva calmed down and got absorbed in samadhi. At the same time, Tarakasura performed severe penance and obtained such a boon from Lord Brahma that his end could only be possible at the hands of Lord Shiva’s son. Due to the self-immolation of Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva was absorbed in samadhi, so there was no question of having children.
Tarakasura took advantage of this situation and became more powerful day by day. Not only this, he started terrorizing all three worlds including the gods. After the situation became unbearable, the gods thought of raising Shiva from Samadhi, but raising Shiva from Samadhi was an invitation to death. However, after long consideration, this responsibility was handed over to Kamadeva.

After this Kamadev went to the Samadhi site and made many efforts. When none of Kamadeva’s efforts were successful, he finally shot a flower arrow at Lord Shiva. As soon as that arrow hit Lord Shiva’s heart, his trance was broken. Then Mahadev got up in anger and opened his third eye. Kamadeva was instantly destroyed by the flame of the third eye.
