Shikara service started in Bhopal Upper Lake: A new attraction will give a unique experience of a trip like Dal Lake.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched 20 new eco-friendly shikaras at the Upper Lake Boat Club in Bhopal. These shikaras, built on the lines of Dal Lake of Kashmir, will give new heights to water tourism and will fill the void created by the closure of cruise boats.

Bhopal Upper Lake Shikara Launch: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated Shikaras prepared by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Corporation at Upper Lake Boat Club, Bhopal. This initiative is a big step towards taking tourism to a new level in the state.

New initiative to promote tourism

The Tourism Corporation has made arrangements for a total of 20 hunts as per the wish of the Chief Minister. All these shikaras have been built on the lines of the famous Dal Lake of Kashmir. This is the first time in the state that Shikara service is being started on such a large scale. This will increase the attractiveness of Upper Lake and water tourism of Bhopal will become stronger at the national and international level.

Shikaras made from eco-friendly materials

These hunts are constructed from fiber reinforced polyurethane and non-reactive modern materials. It is completely environment friendly and does not cause any kind of pollution in water. This has ensured that tourism increases, but nature is not compromised.

Experience facility like Dal Lake now in Bhopal

It is the effort of the boat club that by starting Shikara service, the tourists can get the same experience which is found in Dal Lake of Kashmir. Besides, the shortage that was being felt due to the closure of cruise boats will also be filled by these hunts.

Manufactured as per international standards

The shikaras are designed by the internationally renowned company M/s Kolkata Water Sports. Shikaras of this company are also running in Assam, Bengal and Kerala and are very popular among the tourists.

A total of 20 shikaras have been called for the Upper Lake, on which a total of ₹61,04,600 has been spent. With their arrival, there will be a big improvement in the tourism facilities of Bhopal.
