A case of gang rape of an 18 year old Inter student on the pretext of giving lift has come to light in Vikas Nagar, Lucknow. Police have arrested two accused Anshuman and Junaid, while the third accused Shivansh is still absconding. Investigation is ongoing.
A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Vikas Nagar police station area of Lucknow. Here, youths traveling in a car with an 18-year-old intermediate student committed gangrape on the pretext of giving her a lift. Police have arrested two named accused in the case, while one accused is absconding. This incident is said to have happened on the night of 15 October.
The student had left after being angry with her family
According to the information, the victim is an intermediate student and had left the house on October 15 after being angry with her family members. When she was returning home by auto late at night after roaming around with her friend all day, the auto driver lost his way. The student got down near Khurramnagar. Meanwhile, a car stopped near him in which two youths were traveling. He offered lift to Vikas Nagar. At first the student refused, but after the assurance of the youth, she sat in the car.

Victim of cruelty in the name of lift
It is alleged that the youth in the car mixed intoxicants in tea and made the student drink it, due to which she became unconscious. After this she was taken to a flat, where both the youths gang-raped her. Half an hour later, a third young man arrived there and he also raped the student. It is also alleged that after the gangrape, one of the accused held the student hostage for four days, after which she somehow managed to escape from there.
Case registered on 22 October
The family had earlier filed a missing report when the student did not return home. When she returned home on October 18, she did not tell anything due to fear. But on October 19, accused Junaid sent her threatening messages, after which she narrated the entire incident to her family. The family lodged a complaint at Madiyav police station on 22 October.
Two accused arrested, one still absconding
Inspector Shivanand Mishra, who is investigating the case, said that on Thursday the police arrested two named accused – Anshuman and Junaid. Anshuman’s father is said to be working in the wireless department. Police are conducting raids in search of the third accused Shivansh. Interrogation of both the arrested accused is going on and strict action is being taken under relevant sections.
