Dhaka: Bangladesh remains on edge as preparations begin for the funeral of Sharif Osman Hadi, an anti-India radical leader whose killing has sparked widespread unrest across the country. Authorities have tightened security in Dhaka amid fears of fresh violence.
Hadi, a spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a prominent face of the July uprising, died at a hospital in Singapore on Thursday, a week after he was shot by masked gunmen in Dhaka. His body arrived in the capital on Friday evening, even as the city grappled with heightened tension and security challenges.
