There was a huge fall in the stock market on 19 February. Sensex closed down by 1236 points and Nifty by 365 points. Investors’ wealth declined by Rs 7.57 lakh crore. The biggest decline was seen in shares of realty, auto, power and utility sectors.

Stock Market Today: There was a sharp decline in the Indian stock market on 19 February. At the end of the day, BSE Sensex fell 1,236.11 points or 1.48% to close at 82,498.14. Whereas Nifty 50 closed at the level of 25,454.35 with a decline of 365 points or 1.41%. On Thursday, February 19, all the sectoral indices in the market remained in the red. Maximum pressure was seen in shares of realty, power, auto and utility sectors.

Market Cap Update: Investors lost ₹7.57 lakh crore

The total market capitalization of companies listed on BSE declined to Rs 464.46 lakh crore. On the last trading day it was Rs 472.01 lakh crore. In this way, investors’ wealth decreased by about Rs 7.57 lakh crore in a single day.

Sensex Stocks Performance: All 30 stocks in red

On February 19, the market fall was so severe that all 30 Sensex stocks closed in loss. The biggest fall was recorded in Indigo shares, which closed down 3.23%. Apart from this, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), UltraTech Cement, Trent and Bharat Electronics also saw a decline of 2.70% to 2.97%.

4367 shares traded, 1952 shares declined

A total of 4,367 shares were traded on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today. Of these, 2,243 shares closed with gains, while 1,952 shares declined. 188 shares closed flat without any change. Apart from this, 110 shares touched their new 52-week high during trading, while 146 shares reached their 52-week low.
