6 ways to please Shanidev
- Worship of Peepal tree:- Light a mustard oil lamp under the Peepal tree before sunrise or after sunset on Saturday. On Saturday, offer water to the Peepal tree (mixing milk, jaggery and water) and revolve around it 7 times.
- Offer oil and sesame:- Offer mustard oil and black sesame seeds to Shani Dev on Saturday. Also, one should donate mustard oil in a bronze bowl by seeing one’s face in it.
- Mantra chanting and worship of Hanuman ji:- Chant “Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah” or Shani Beej Mantra on Saturday. Along with this, worship Lord Hanuman and offer him vermilion, black sesame seeds and blue flowers.
- Charity:- Donate black sesame seeds, black cloth, iron, mustard oil, urad dal and shoes and slippers on Saturday. Donating black urad and coal to a needy person on Saturday is considered auspicious.
- Service to the poor:- Shanidev is considered the god of workers. Shani Dev is pleased by serving the needy and laborers on this day. Also, on Saturday, feed roti or laddu to a black dog, give jaggery and gram to monkeys and food and water to birds.

Shani Mantra Chant Method
