Shameful act in Etawah! Dalit youth beaten like a cock in the middle of the road, video goes viral

In Etawah, three youths beat a Dalit youth badly on the road and made a video of him as a cock. After the video went viral, the police took cognizance and registered a case under the SC-ST Act and started searching for the accused.

Etawah. An inhuman incident has come to light from Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, which has shocked the society. In Rani Nagar locality of Bharthana police station area, three youths beat a Dalit youth badly in the middle of the road and then humiliated him by turning him into a cock. Not only this, the accused made a video of this entire incident and made it viral on social media.

Beaten for protesting, made ‘rooster’ on the road

The matter is of Rani Nagar locality of Bharthana town. The victim youth Sumit Diwakar told that he was going out for some work, when on the way accused Nandan Gupta, his associates Laddu Gupta and Satyendra Kumar stopped him. The first three abused him and when he protested, they attacked him. After the fight, the accused made him sit in the middle of the road in the form of a cock and recorded the video among the onlookers.

Police came into action after the video went viral

This incident is said to have happened on October 8. At that time the victim did not complain to the police, hence the matter remained suppressed. But when the accused themselves posted the video on social media, it quickly went viral. After the video surfaced, the police took cognizance and after taking the complaint from the victim, registered a case against the three accused under the SC-ST Act.

Team formed for arrest, video sent to forensic lab

SP Rural Shrish Chandra said that considering the seriousness of the case, special teams have been formed to arrest the accused.

“Police teams are raiding the possible hideouts of the accused. The video has been sent for forensic examination to verify its authenticity,” he said.

The SP described it as a “socially shameful and unacceptable incident” and assured that strictest action would be taken against the culprits.

People were outraged by the incident, demand for justice raised on social media

After the video went viral, anger has spread among the local people. People condemned the incident and said that such incidents are a stigma not only on the Dalit community but on the entire humanity. Pressure has increased on the police to arrest the accused as soon as possible and provide justice to the victim.
