New Delhi: A shocking incident that puts humanity to shame has come to light from Chandrapur in Maharashtra. Here, when he could not repay the loan, the moneylenders sold the kidney of a farmer. It is being told that the farmer had to take this step after being fed up with the constant pressure from moneylenders. The problems of farmers in the country and the state are not ending, be it change in nature or cruel behavior of humans. A heart-wrenching example of the pain that farmers have to endure due to poverty has come to light in Chandrapur district of Vidarbha. In Chandrapur district, a moneylender sold his kidney to a farmer to recover his loan and he was successful in it.
This incident happened with Roshan Kude, a farmer living in Minthur of Nagbhid taluka of Chandrapur district. A few years ago, Roshan had borrowed Rs 1 lakh on interest from a private moneylender to start a milk business, but unfortunately, his cattle died and he could not repay the loan to the moneylender. Since then this private moneylender was repeatedly pressurizing him to repay the money.
Kidney sold for Rs 8 lakh
As days passed, the principal and interest amounts increased significantly. At last, the moneylender sternly advised the farmer to repay the money by selling his kidney. On the advice of the same moneylender, a farmer named Roshan Kude first went to Kolkata and then to Cambodia and sold his kidney for Rs 8 lakh. The victim farmer has made serious allegations saying that he has got into this condition because of the moneylender and has demanded action against the moneylender.
On one hand, the state government claims to double the income of farmers, but this incident has once again made it clear how bad the condition of farmers is in rural areas. Now all eyes are on how quickly the state government and the agriculture minister take action on this and what punishment is given to the moneylender concerned. MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar has expressed his anger over this incident of kidney selling. He said- This shows how much work the government is doing. They should think seriously now.
