She urged people who come across the video to refrain from sharing, forwarding, downloading, or engaging with it and instead report it immediately. Shalini’s statement comes amid growing concerns over deepfake content involving public figures, with several Indian celebrities previously targeted by similar unauthorized AI-generated videos.

Taking to her Instagram on August 31, Shalini Pandey has spoken out after an unauthorized AI-generated video featuring her began circulating online. Taking to Instagram on Monday, the actor clarified that the video is fake and has no connection to her.
In her statement, Shalini wrote, “I want to address a fake AI-generated video of me that is currently being circulated online. The video is completely fabricated and does not depict me. It is deeply disturbing to see technology being misused in this way to target and harm individuals, especially women.” The actor strongly condemned the misuse of artificial intelligence and urged people not to contribute to the video’s circulation. “I strongly condemn this kind of abuse and believe this kind of misuse of technology should never be normalised,” she said.

Several Indian public figures, including Rashmika Mandanna, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh and Sachin Tendulkar, have previously been targeted by deepfake videos.
On the professional front, Shalini, meanwhile, has built a diverse filmography since making her acting debut with the 2017 Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, opposite Vijay Deverakonda. She later appeared in Mahanati (2018), Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022) and Maharaj (2024). She has also featured in projects such as Dabba Cartel and the Tamil film Idly Kadai.
