IRF 2025 Round 2 Racing took the Madras International Circuit by storm as Day 1 action produced tight racing and clean driving on a circuit that had transformed overnight due to the rains after Dark Day qualifying had been completed.
Speed Demons Delhi emerged with Shahan Ali Mohsin, in the Indian Racing league (IRL). Mohsin made a dream start at pole position to lead all the way to take an impressive win. His team mate Alister Yoong shot off first at the third position, and passed Aqil Alibhai of Chennai Turbo Riders early into the race. The fight to second was decided in the last corner with Alibhai just beating Yoong by a whisker in a close photo finish.
Mohsin was understandably pleased at returning to the front of the grid, and attributed his team and also the character of Yoong as being able to fight back. The emergency time results were Mohsin with a time of 26:38.876 recording as a winner, Alibhai and Yoong.
The genetic Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4 Indian) was also very exciting. Sachel Rotge of Kichcha Kings Bengaluru made a solid late overtake to win the race, as Ghazi Motlekar made a fantastic recovery from 10 th place to finish 2 nd. Annabel Kennedy came third on the podium
With Day 1 wrapping up, the fans are sure to be on the edge of their seats again on Day 2 as IRL drivers take on again as more races are added to the list in the Formula 4 category.
