Mumbai, Maharashtra: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has set the internet abuzz with the unveiling of a new, high-octane poster for his upcoming film, ‘King’.
The dramatic visual shows Khan in a vengeful avatar, emerging from a tunnel engulfed in flames, brandishing a gun. His unbuttoned dark shirt reveals a bloodied chest, hinting at an intense, action-packed narrative.
Days before his 61st birthday, Khan shared the poster with a captivating caption that quickly went viral: “Aaj phir yaad aaya…Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…#KING.” This declaration has fueled fan anticipation for the film, which is slated for a grand Christmas release on December 24, 2026.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘King’ marks a highly anticipated reunion for Khan and Anand after their blockbuster collaboration on ‘Pathaan’ in 2023. Khan has been deeply involved in the film’s post-production, often working late nights with the VFX team. He playfully remarked about ‘troubling’ his visual effects artists, ensuring the highest quality.
Director Anand is also working tirelessly, a dedication Khan proudly acknowledged. The film’s music, a crucial element for any Bollywood release, is being perfected by playback maestro Arijit Singh, whom Khan described as a ‘perfectionist’.
Addressing concerns about ‘King’ competing with other holiday releases, Khan confidently stated, “Not at all… Baaki bread pieces ka bhi toh socho… hum toh center ki tasty Tikki hain.” This indicates his strong belief in the film’s appeal. The star-studded cast includes his daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, with reports suggesting special appearances by Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan, promising a cinematic spectacle for audiences.
