Bollywood’s power couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, have a love story that began long before his superstardom. While their bond is now celebrated, King Khan once candidly revealed a possessive streak from their early dating days.
During an appearance on ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’, Shah Rukh openly discussed his initial insecurities. “I was very possessive. I was like a dog. I was downright vulgar and sick… Like if you were my girlfriend, you would not be allowed to keep open hair and wear a white shirt,” he confessed, reflecting on his younger self. Gauri corroborated this, sharing how his possessiveness nearly drove her away. “He was disgusting, he was sick! And he had to learn because I said ‘Okay bye, I would never see you again’,” she recounted, highlighting the ultimatum she delivered.
Their journey began in 1984 in Delhi, where an 18-year-old Shah Rukh met a 14-year-old Gauri at a friend’s party. Despite initial shyness and numerous ups and downs, including periods of separation, their love persevered. They eventually tied the knot on October 25, 1991, honouring both Hindu and Nikah traditions. Today, they are proud parents to Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam, their enduring relationship a testament to navigating challenges and growing together.
