Police said that the body was hidden inside a bed box and had started decomposing. The woman has been identified as Mamta Ahirwar, who used to work as a dancer in weddings and local fairs.
Children revealed
The entire incident was revealed by his children, Dev and Muskaan, who returned home after about ten days. According to news agency Press Trust of India, both of them had gone to Vidisha to visit their elder sister in search of work with the help of their brother-in-law. According to reports, the children were not able to have any contact with their mother since April 5. His mobile phone was also continuously switching off, due to which his anxiety had increased.
Suspicious after seeing it locked from outside
When he reached his house in Sahodra Rai Ward, he saw that it was locked from outside. After this, with the help of neighbors they broke the door and entered the house. As soon as they entered the house, they smelled a very strong smell. After this they started searching the entire house. During the search, when he opened a bed box, he was shocked to see his mother’s dead body inside.
The victim lived alone
Mamta Ahirwar was a widow for about 15 years and lived alone at home. Police say that the children were away for several days, perhaps that is why the crime was delayed in being detected. Police officials have confirmed that it is being investigated as a murder case. Sub-divisional police officer Asthana said that investigation has been started on the basis of initial evidence found on the spot. At present, the identity of the accused and the motive for the murder are not known.
Postmortem and investigation ongoing
Postmortem of the dead body has been done. Initial reports are expected by Monday evening. Officials believe that this report can help in finding out the real cause and time of death. Police are also examining the condition of the house, especially the locks from outside, to understand how the crime took place.
