Sangli Murder Case Maharashtra: A 16-year-old boy has been detained for the murder of Education Society Director Sanjay Paranjape in Sangli. According to police, the boy committed the murder out of anger after being scolded for jumping the gate. However, the family has expressed doubt over the motive stated by the police.

Harashtra: Sangli Police on Sunday claimed to have solved the case of Sanjay Prabhakar Paranjape’s death. Police have detained a 16-year-old boy, who has confessed to killing the director of the Education Society on March 18. Inspector Siddheshwar Jangam of Palus police station said that the boy had given his final 10th examination that day. Later, when he was taking a shortcut by jumping the society gate, Paranjape saw him and scolded him. The boy confessed that he pushed Paranjape towards the wall in anger, causing head injury. Subsequently, fearing that he would be reported, he attacked them with a sharp object.

CCTV footage shows the truth of the murder

Paranjape’s son found his father’s body in the space under the stairs in their apartment at around 8.30 pm. The family was waiting for them at dinner when the son started searching for them. With the help of CCTV footage from nearby cameras, the police identified the boy, who lived near the apartment.

According to the police, the boy hid the body and took Paranjape’s ring and cellphone. Later the Juvenile Justice Board sent him to a juvenile home. However, Paranjape’s family has expressed doubt on the story told by the police. He told the investigators that the deceased was of a very quiet nature and never said anything to anyone even in a loud voice. The family says that murder just because of being scolded for jumping the gate seems like a very trivial reason and has appealed to the police to investigate from all angles.
