Scindia will change BSNL’s picture like this, the company’s network will improve with ₹ 47,000 crore

The government is again increasing the focus on Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The government has prepared a plan of Rs 47,000 crore to improve the company’s network. The Department of Telecommunications gave this information on social media platform x on Thursday. The department told that the government has prepared a new plan of about Rs 47,000 crore for updating BSNL and network expansion.

This step has been taken after BSNL’s record investment made last year. Last year, BSNL spent Rs 25,000 crore to expand 4G mobile services. Citing Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, the department said, BSNL is moving fast to strengthen India’s digital future. Last year, the story of India’s telecom development is getting stronger with an investment of ₹ 25,000 crore and a new scheme of ₹ 47,000 crore.

Scindia set a new target

Last year, a large part of this Rs 25,000 crore project was completed by TCS and Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), which provided telecom equipment to the government operator. Scindia has now set ambitious targets for BSNL, including instructions to increase mobile service business by 50% by next year.

How far is behind BSNL

In a review meeting with BSNL’s Circle and Business Unit Heads last month, he also asked each unit to increase the enterprise business by 2530% and the fixed line business by 1520%. To strengthen the company’s financial performance, the Union Minister has asked BSNL to pay attention to the customer setting and increase its average per customer revenue (ARPU) by expanding subscriber base. Currently, the ARPU of BSNL ranges from about Rs 40 to Rs 175 in different circles. In comparison, private companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel had a ARPU of Rs 208 and Rs 250 in the June quarter.
