Patna District District Magistrate Dr. Thiagarajan SM has ordered to keep education till class 8 in all government and private schools, Anganwadi centers and pre-schools closed till December 30, 2025. Classes for students of classes 9 to 12 will run from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Apart from this, pre-board and board examinations will be conducted as per the scheduled time.
Patna District Magistrate has said in the notice, due to cold, the health of children can be negatively affected. Therefore, studies up to class 8 in all schools of Patna district are postponed till 30th December. Classes for students above class 9 will continue as scheduled. Pre-board and board examinations will be conducted regularly.’
In Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi also, following the warning of the Meteorological Department, studies from classes KG to 12 in all government and private schools will remain closed till December 31. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Ranchi will be 8 degrees Celsius on December 28 and around 10 degrees Celsius on December 31. There is also a possibility of moderately dense fog during this period. The order of the District Education Office states that ‘Under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, classes KG to 12 in all the schools of Ranchi district are postponed from 27 to 31 December 2025.’
Experts have appealed to the parents and school administration to keep children safe at home in the cold weather and wear light warm clothes as per need. During winter, the risk of respiratory infections, colds and other health problems increases in children.
Dress children in warm clothes, sweaters and jackets. Avoid going out in the morning and evening. Provide warm water and nutritious food. Use a light heater or hot water at home safely. If any child has any health related problem then contact the doctor immediately.
