Under the School Entrance Festival 2026 in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav distributed free bicycles to children. Enrollment increased by 19.6% and dropouts were reported to be almost zero. The government is continuously increasing education facilities.
Bhopal. April 1 was a very special day for the children of Madhya Pradesh. On one hand he got a free bicycle, on the other hand his enthusiasm to go to school also increased. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the ‘School Chalen Hum’ state level entrance festival program 2026 at Model Higher Secondary School on Wednesday. On this occasion, free bicycles were also distributed to the students. At the beginning of the program, the Chief Minister visited the exhibition put up by the children and also took a selfie with them.
Start of ‘School Chalen Hum’ program: Lighting of lamp and honoring children
The program started with the lighting of the lamp. After this, the Chief Minister showered flowers on the children and gifted books to those children who decided to go to school again. His parents were also respected. The Chief Minister said that this day is very special because thousands of children are entering school simultaneously. Children whose schools are far away are being given bicycles. He said that today times have changed and children are getting better facilities for education, like books, bicycles and uniforms.
Improvement in education: Enrollment increased, dropout decreased
The Chief Minister said that the confidence of parents has increased due to the efforts of the government and the education department. He claimed that now the dropout has reduced to almost zero. Enrollment has increased by 19.6 percent, which is a big achievement. Also, an increase of 32.4 percent has been recorded in the progress of children in government schools. It is clear from this that people’s confidence in government schools has strengthened.
Sandipani and PM Shree School: Better education and facilities
The Chief Minister said that children are getting modern facilities in Sandipani and PM Shri schools. All the necessary resources are available in these schools for all-round development. This is the reason why many children are leaving private schools and enrolling in government schools. Under the New Education Policy 2020, books in local languages are also being distributed in tribal areas.
Mohan Yadav government schemes: Hostel, laptop and uniform distribution
The Chief Minister said that 1913 hostels with a capacity of 95 thousand are being operated for Scheduled Tribe students. About 20 lakh students are studying in more than 25 thousand schools of the Tribal Affairs Department. The government has simplified the admission process and laptops have been given to about one lakh talented students. For this, a provision of Rs 250 crore has been made in the budget. Till now, uniforms have been given to 55 lakh students and more than 76 thousand teachers have also been appointed.
Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh’s statement: Enrollment of one crore children
School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh described this day as Diwali for the department. He said that this year one crore children have been enrolled. The government aims to prevent dropouts and provide free books to all children. Along with this, there is a plan to organize a book fair at the block level, so that children of government and private schools can take advantage of cheap books.
Madhya Pradesh government’s goal: to provide education to every child
Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that the education system of the state has been strengthened under the leadership of the Chief Minister. In government schools, children are being provided facilities like mid-day meal, free books, bicycles, scooties and laptops. The aim of the government is to provide better education to children of every section and make their future bright.
