The medical team immediately started treatment on the field and he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he underwent scans. Zimbabwe coach Kate Ibrahim later gave an update, saying that Kelis is now responding and her condition is improving. She is waiting for the scan results. The coach said that the team also took mental care of his fellow batsman Modester so that he could continue the innings. At the same time, in place of Kelis, Tendai Makusha was fielded as a concussion substitute.
