Actress Saumya Tandon has expressed gratitude to filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, saying it is a dream for any actor to be directed by him.
Saumya, who was last seen in the blockbuster Dhurandhar, shared a series of Instagram pictures featuring herself with Barjatya and other cast members from the sets of the upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya. She also shared a picture of the film’s poster featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari.
“It’s a dream for any actor to be directed by #soorajbarjatiya sir. From the most happy set ever. I cherish every moment I spent on the sets of #yehpremmolliya,” she wrote.
She added that the love portrayed on screen reflects the atmosphere behind the camera, thanking Rajshri Films for the experience and the film’s cast and crew. The actress also said the film will release in cinemas on November 27.
The title track of Yeh Prem Mol Liya was released recently, offering a glimpse into the world of the film, while details about its storyline remain under wraps.
Saumya was also part of Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which features Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, among others.
Saumya began her acting career with the Afghan serial Khushi in 2008, in which she played an Afghan woman doctor. She later co-hosted Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout with Shah Rukh Khan and hosted Dance India Dance for three seasons.
She has also co-hosted the Bournvita Quiz Contest with Derek O’Brien and appeared in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met as Roop, the sister of Kareena Kapoor’s character.
In 2015, Tandon began playing Anita in the popular comedy series Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, where her character became popularly known as “Gori Mem.”
