When will Saubhagya Sundari Teej Vrat be celebrated?
Saubhagya Sundari Teej fast will be celebrated on the Tritiya of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month, i.e. Agahan month. This auspicious date will fall on Saturday, 8 November 2025. Both married and unmarried women observe this fast with the wish of happiness, prosperity and happy married life.
Saubhagya Sundari Vrat Puja Vidhi
To observe Saubhagya Sundari Vrat, dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, women should take bath-meditation in the morning, then spread a red cloth on a platform and install the idol or picture of Shiva and Parvati in the north-east corner of the house. After this, 16 makeup items, fruits, flowers, incense and lamps should be offered to Goddess Parvati. On the day of Saubhagya Sundari Vrat, recite the Katha during the puja and then perform the Aarti of Shiva and Parvati with devotion. According to Hindu belief, when Sati’s father Daksh insulted her husband Lord Shiva, she immolated herself in the fire, but while leaving she told her father that in the next life she would be Lord Shiva’s consort. It is believed that she was next born as Parvati and through rigorous penance and fasting she eventually obtained Lord Shiva as her husband. It is believed that the tradition of observing fast to attain the desired life partner and eternal marital happiness through Saubhagya Sundari Teej fast continues even today.
