Satish Shah’s prayer meeting held in Mumbai; wife sings his favourite songs

Mumbai: Actor Satish Shah’s sudden demise shocked the entertainment industry. A prayer meeting was held in his memory in Mumbai on Monday, October 27. It was organised by J.D. Machitia, the producer of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai and Friends.

A Shraddhanjali Kriya (prayer meet) was held at Jalaram Hall in Juhu, Mumbai, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Satish’s friends, family and dear ones from the industry gathered for the prayer meeting. They celebrated his life and honoured his generosity, kindness, and humour. His wife Madhu cherished his memories by singing his favourite songs. A video even showed Sonu Nigam singing for the celebrated actor at the ceremony.

The prayer meeting saw the presence of many actors. Videos shared by the paparazzi showed Sumeet Raghavan. He was among the first to arrive. Johny lever, Padmini Kolhapure, JD Majithiya, Pawan Malhotra, Poonam Dhillon, Nitish Bhardwaj, David Dhawan, Anang Desai, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Deepak Parashar, Raza Murad, Rajit Kapoor, Writer Sanjay Chel, Shatrughan Sinha, Roopali Ganguli, Rakesh Roshan, and Bhuvan Bam were other celebrities who attended the ceremony.

On Sunday, Satish’s friends and family bid him an emotional farewell at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans Crematorium. They stood in silence and tears as they watched the pyre burn. Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Deven Bhojani, JD Majethia, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, Farah Khan, Avatar Gill, and Jackie Shroff, were all present at the funeral. A video from the funeral showed the entire cast of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai singing in front of the pyre. The heartbreaking moment left many teary-eyed.

Satish passed away due to kidney failure. He collapsed at lunch and was immediately taken to the Hinduja Hospital. Unfortunately, he could not be saved.

Satish’s death marks the end of an era. His wit and infectious humour will continue to remain the hearts of the people who loved him dearly as a person and an artist.
