Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty clinched their 10th BWF World Tour title by beating China’s pair 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 to win the Super 750 China Masters on Sunday.
The world No. 5 Indians, runners-up in 2023 and 2025 and semi-finalists in 2024, became the first Indians to win the tournament since its inception in 2005.
It was their second Super 750 title of the year and fourth overall. The Asian Games champions reached their third BWF World Tour final of 2026, having lost the Thailand Open final in May before winning the Singapore Open later that month.
The Chinese pair made a flying start, racing to 5-0 and leading 11-5 at the interval before taking the opener 21-11 in 18 minutes.
The Indians responded strongly in the second game, turning a 2-0 deficit into leads of 3-3 and 6-6 before taking an 11-7 advantage at the break. Powerful smashes helped them move 17-11 ahead.
The Chinese again surged ahead 4-0 in the decider, but Satwik and Chirag fought back to level at 7-7 and led 11-9 at the interval.
They held their nerve late, winning four straight points to seal a 21-17 victory after a 70-minute thriller. The title comes after their quarterfinal exit at last month’s World Championships in New Delhi.
