Nora Fatehi has finally broken her silence on the ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ controversy. Nora says that she shot the song in Kannada. The changes to the Hindi version were made without his approval. He distanced himself from the project and said that it was affecting his image.
Nora Fatehi Sarke Chunar Row: Actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has finally broken her silence on the ongoing controversy regarding the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from the film KD: The Devil. In a detailed video message, he expressed his views on this entire matter. Clearing her stand, Nora said that she is different from the Hindi version of this song.
The song was shot in Kannada, I didn’t know what happened later
According to Nora Fatehi, she had shot this song in Kannada language about three years ago and she had no idea how it would be changed later. Nora said, “I shot this song in Kannada three years ago. I said yes to it because it was part of a big film and Sanjay Dutt was also in it. I thought this song was a remake of ‘Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main’.”
My approval was not taken for the Hindi version.
Nora Fatehi further said that when the song was translated, she did not find anything wrong in it because she does not know Kannada language. She said, “I was trusting the team. But later when it was dubbed in Hindi and its lyrics were changed, neither my permission nor my approval was taken for this. I had no knowledge about it.”
Disturbance seen in launch event
Nora told that she felt something strange during the launch event of the song. She said, “When I watched the Kannada version, I saw some pictures in the video that did not look right. Even an AI generated picture of me and Sanjay Dutt was used. I was quite angry after seeing this, but I kept my cool.”
Had already expressed my concern
Actress Nora Fatehi said that she had already expressed her concerns to the makers. He told, when I saw the Hindi version, I was sure that there would be controversy over it. I clearly told the director that this was not right and I distanced myself from this project. I did not promote this song anywhere.
My image and respect were at stake
Nora clearly said that this song could have affected her image. She said, I told the director that because of this song both my image and respect are at stake, so I want to stay away from it. Nora Fatehi also talked about the limitations of artists on this occasion. He said, “Artists do not have much power or control. I have got a lot of support in Bollywood, but there are some industries where the opinion of artists is not given much importance.”
Expressed gratitude for removing the song after the controversy
In the end, Nora said that after this controversy the makers had to remove the song, for which she is grateful. He said, “I am thankful that they removed the song after this controversy.”
