Actress Sara Ali Khan has expressed her desire to work with megastar Amitabh Bachchan, pointing out that her mother Amrita Singh and grandmother Sharmila Tagore have both shared screen space with the legendary actor.
Sara made the revelation during her appearance with Ayushmann Khurrana on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, where the two actors joined Amitabh Bachchan for a conversation while promoting their upcoming film Udta Teer.
During the interaction, Sara jokingly admitted that she was jealous of Ayushmann for having already worked with Amitabh in the 2020 film Gulabo Sitabo. She said the feeling extended to her own family as well, since both her mother and grandmother had worked with the veteran actor.
Sara said she wanted to “graduate” from playing Ayushmann’s wife in their upcoming film and hoped Amitabh would eventually share the screen with them.
Ayushmann, meanwhile, spoke about his first impression of Sara before they worked together. He said he initially wondered what she would be like because she came from a film family, but described her as “the sweetest” and said they connected over their shared sense of goofiness.
He also said he would be happy to work with Sara again if another opportunity came along.
Sara praised Ayushmann for his professionalism, acting ability and dedication, saying he remains grounded, focused on his work and does not throw tantrums on set.
Amitabh agreed with her assessment and recalled working with Ayushmann in Gulabo Sitabo. He praised the actor for coming well-prepared to the shoot and for his patience during the making of the film.
The megastar also complimented Ayushmann’s performance in the 2020 Shoojit Sircar-directed film, in which the two actors played the central characters.
Sara and Ayushmann are set to share screen space in Udta Teer, with Sara playing his wife. The film marks another addition to their respective filmographies as they collaborate on the upcoming project.
