UP Textile Park: In Uttar Pradesh, new opportunities for investment, production and employment will open with Sant Kabir Textile and Apparel Park Scheme. 15,431 crore investment, 1 lakh jobs and weavers will be connected with cheap electricity and solar energy.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a historic announcement to give a new direction to both heritage and future of Uttar Pradesh. Modern textile and apparel parks will be set up in many districts under “Sant Kabir Clothing and Apparel Park Scheme” soon in the state. The scheme will not only open new opportunities for employment and investment, but will also establish a balance between traditional weavers and modern industries.
The Chief Minister said that this scheme will be dedicated to Sant Kabir’s ideology – labor, simplicity and self -sufficiency. According to him, this will not only provide employment to the youth, but Uttar Pradesh will also create a new identity on global textile and apparel map.

Big investment and employment opportunities
- Each park will develop on at least 50 acres of land.
- Common Fluent Treatment Plant (CETP) will be mandatory for processing industries.
- Auxiliary units like button, zipper, packaging and warehouse will also be developed.
UP’s export and contribution to GDP
- In the financial year 2023-24, about 3.5 billion US dollars and apparel were exported from UP.
- This is 9.6% of the country’s total exports.
- The region contributes 1.5% to the state’s GDP.
- At present, 22 lakh people in the state are directly associated with the textile industry.
Mangles of tradition and modernity
Traditional clusters like Varanasi, Mau, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Barabanki, Gorakhpur and Meerut have given UP a place on the National Apparel Map. The Chief Minister said that the new parks will further strengthen these clusters and connect with modern facilities.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also insisted on understanding the problems of weavers and communicating with them. He said:
- Cheap electricity is being provided to the weavers.
- There will be a plan to connect the powerloom to solar energy.
- The industry will be further strengthened by incorporating their suggestions and expectations.
