New Delhi: India vice-captain Shubman Gill has been ruled out of the last two T20I games against South Africa due to a toe injury, according to sources as quoted by PTI. Gill, who has been under pressure to perform owing to an extended run of poor form, sustained the injury during a training session ahead of India vs South Africa third T20I in Lucknow today (Wednesday). Sources told PTI that all precautionary measures are being taken to ensure his speedy recovery.
Gill’s injury is likely to pave the way for Sanju Samson, who has warmed the bench in India’s last six T20Is, including the first three in the ongoing series against the Proteas.
