The ongoing dispute over the assets of about 30,000 crore rupees in the Delhi High Court has now taken a new turn. Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor and her two children have made a big disclosure in this matter. The petition filed on his behalf has revealed WhatsApp chat and documents, which shows that Sanjay Kapoor was trying to get foreign citizenship for Karisma Kapoor and his children.
According to media reports, Sanjay Kapoor was helping Karishma and his children to get Portuguese passports, but for this he had to give up his Indian citizenship. This has been revealed in the conversation between them, which has been revealed through documents and chat presented in the court.
High court sought answers from Priya Sachdeva
In this case, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Priya Sachdeva Kapoor, saying that he should submit the entire list of all movable and immovable properties of Sanjay Kapoor to the court. The court has ordered Priya Sachdeva to file his reply by 12 June 2025. Sanjay Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor’s children Adara and Qian have alleged that Priya Sachdeva Kapoor has forged Sanjay Kapoor’s will for illegal control of their property.
Is it not registered?
According to media reports, Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing on behalf of Karisma Kapoor’s children, said that the will presented is not registered. He also said that Sanjay Kapoor always assured the children of their financial security, but Priya Sachdeva kept the trust’s documents away from the reach of the children. After this, a new will of March 21 was also introduced, which increased the controversy.
On the other hand, Priya Sachdeva’s lawyer Rajiv Nair said that the children have received Rs 1,900 crore from the Rani Kapoor Trust and hence the case should not be considered right in the court.
Sanjay Kapoor’s mother Rani Kapoor’s statement
Sanjay Kapoor’s mother Rani Kapoor has also intervened in this matter. He told the court through senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar that he was worried about his grandchildren. He said that he asked for a copy of the will several times but he never got any part in the trust. The Delhi High Court set the next hearing of the case on 9 October 2025.
