Sanjay Dutt, one of the most prominent figures in the Bollywood industry, turned a year older today. The actor had an infamous past and credits those experiences with shaping him into the person he is today. From becoming one of Bollywood’s most sought-after stars to facing some of life’s most difficult situations, Sanjay Dutt’s journey has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride.
Sanjay Dutt made his Bollywood debut with Rocky in 1981. Over the years, his charisma, distinctive screen presence, and powerful performances earned him a loyal fan following. However, behind the stardom lay a turbulent personal life that often grabbed headlines.
In March 1993, Sanjay was arrested in connection with the Bombay serial blasts case. He was later convicted for illegally possessing weapons and served a prison sentence. The actor eventually completed his five-year jail term and was released in 2016.
Recalling his prison days, Sanjay said, “I have also learned this during my jail term. I have learned to forgive.”
“A hawaldar (constable) taught me this. He told me, ‘Learn to forgive people, and you will grow more in your life,’” the Vaastav actor shared.
According to Sanjay, the constable advised him to forgive people, no matter how deeply they had hurt him. While the advice was meaningful, Sanjay admitted that putting it into practice was far from easy.
