Sanjay Dutt gives insights about his jail days when a double murder convict put razor on his neck: ‘Held his hand…’

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has faced many hardships in his life. He had to spend time in jail due to the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, which was a very difficult period for him.

The actor was sentenced to five years in prison. He was granted bail several times during his sentence, which is why he only completed his five-year jail sentence in 2016. Recently, Dutt recalled his time in jail during an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show.

Sanjay Dutt reveals shocking details during his jail days

Sanjay Dutt shared insights into what life is like in prison and mentioned that he started several initiatives while he was there. While talking to Kapil Sharma, Sanjay Dutt said that he has no regrets in life. “The only thing I regret is that my parents left too soon. I miss them a lot,” he said.

After this, Archana Puran Singh asked Sanjay Dutt what happened to the furniture he had made in jail. In response to her question, Sanjay Dutt recalled his days in prison. He said, “I earned money there. Whether I made chairs or paper bags, I was paid for it. Then I also started the YCP radio station, which runs only inside the jail. I got paid for that too. I hosted radio programs – we had different topics to talk about, and we also did comedy. Three or four inmates used to write the scripts for the programs.”

Sanjay Dutt lived with a double murder convict

Sanjay Dutt further said that he had started a theatre group in jail. He mentioned that he was the director, and his actors were murder convicts. Sanjay Dutt also recalled an incident that happened in prison. He said, “I remember I had a full beard, and the superintendent asked me to shave it. He sent a man named Mishra ji. As soon as Mishra ji took out his razor, I asked him how many years he had been in jail. He told me he had been there for 15 years.”

Sanjay Dutt said that when the razor reached his neck, he asked the man what crime he was in jail for. The man told him that he was guilty of double murder. As soon as Sanjay Dutt heard this, he immediately caught his hand and stopped him. Sanjay Dutt said, “So, a razor in the hand of a double murder convict is just a normal day in jail.”
