Sania Mirza returns to India, reveals harrowing experience in Dubai amid West Asia war

New Delhi: Former Indian tennis star Sania Mirza returned to India on Tuesday after spending some difficult days in Dubai. USA-Israel’s war on Iran from the past two weeks has not been restricted but has engulfed the entire West Asian part which includes Dubai as well.

Mirza, who resides in Dubai with her son, decided to returned to Hyderabad for Eid because of the uncertainty in the regions from the past few days which happened because of the escalation of tension between Iran and USA-Israel. While Mirza likes spending time with her family during festivities and with the ongoing conflict creating chaos in several parts, it became imperative for the tennis star to fly back home.

‘I came last week. Honestly, Dubai is my second home. A few incidents occurred, and at that point, I thought it would be better to come back. We didn’t feel unsafe, but it did feel uncertain,’ she added.

She further revealed that it was her child Izhaan because of whom she was thought of moving away from Dubai for a few days.

‘You don’t want your child going through that. He was asking questions. It didn’t feel unsafe, but it did feel uncertain and unsettling,’ she said.
