In this unique pandal, two sanctified zones face each other in reverent symmetry.
This year’s Durga Puja theme, “Dual Durga,” is a spiritually resonant tribute to India’s composite devotional heritage. It brings together Maa Durga of Bengal and Sherawali Mata of the North, two powerful manifestations of the Divine Mother, enshrined in a single sanctum—a symbolic space of unity in diversity.
In this unique pandal, two sanctified zones face each other in reverent symmetry. Though regionally distinct in form and iconography, both goddesses are venerated for their shared essence: strength, grace, and fierce protection. Together, they embody a deeper truth—that divinity transcends geography, language, and ritual.
Each goddess is portrayed in her traditional attire: Maa Durga in her Bengali grandeur, and Sherawali Mata in North Indian splendor, seated on their respective vahanas. Their dual presence invites reflection—not just on divine femininity—but on the duality within devotion itself: regional yet universal, fierce yet nurturing, distinct yet inseparable.
“Dual Durga” is not merely a theme; it is a contemplative experience. It celebrates the spiritual pluralism that defines Indian worship—a message as timeless as the goddesses themselves, and as timely as ever in today’s world.
