Sandeep Reddy Vanga Says Spirit Actor Prabhas ‘Is Sweet To Work With’, Reveals Film’s Runtime Is Only…

Fans of Prabhas have been eagerly waiting for updates on his much-anticipated collaboration with Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, titled Spirit.

While the project has largely remained under wraps, Vanga recently opened up about key details, including the film’s expected runtime, music progress, and his experience working with the pan-India star.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Spirit’s Runtime

During his recent interaction on Jagapathi Babu’s show Jayammu NischayammuRaa with Jagapathi, also featuring Ram Gopal Varma, the Arjun Reddy director was asked about the film’s length. With a smile, he said, “I’ll make sure the runtime doesn’t exceed three hours, sir.”

The tongue-in-cheek response was a nod to the backlash Animal received for its extended runtime. This time, Vanga hinted that Spirit will be more tightly edited, without compromising on intensity.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga gives update on Spirit’s background score

In an interesting reveal, Vanga shared that 70% of the film’s background score is already completed, even though filming hasn’t started yet. This isn’t new for the director; he adopted the same approach for Animal, where 80% of the BGM was prepared in advance. He explained, “It’s easier to shoot a film when the background music is already playing on set. You know exactly when to say ‘cut’. I learned this during Kabir Singh, and now it’s become part of my process. It saves at least five to six days of production time.”

Sandeep on working with Prabhas in Spirit

Vanga also spoke fondly about collaborating with Prabhas, describing him as grounded despite his massive stardom. “Prabhas is very transparent and very sweet to work with. Though he’s a big star, he never flaunts it. We’ll begin shooting soon.”

About Spirit

Spirit is expected to be a high-octane cop drama, with Prabhas playing a relentless police officer who takes on an underworld syndicate. Triptii Dimri is reportedly cast opposite him, setting the stage for a fresh pairing that fans are eager to see.

Prabhas’ work front

Before Spirit, Prabhas is set to appear in The Raja Saab, a horror-comedy about a carefree man who attempts to make quick money by flipping an ancestral mansion, only to discover it’s haunted. The film co-stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar.
Initially slated for release on December 5, 2025, the film is now likely to hit theatres around Sankranti 2026.
